BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Local artists and event organizers are back to setting up for an annual art festival after being forced into taking a break for storms.
In order to prepare for the Allentown Art Festival — which begins at 10 a.m. — artists and crafters spent much of Friday putting up tents and booths for people to view their art.
In 2015, more than 400 artists are prepared to exhibit their goods. The artists come from across the nation, from states to the west and east coasts — but all remain wary of Buffalo’s sometimes tumultuous weather.
Jen Born, a Rochester woman, has come to the Allentown Art Festival for six years in a row.
“I’ve heard wonderful things from other artists to do it, try to I always trying to change up every three years to try something new to replace something that maybe is not as good,” Born said. “I was thrilled to get in, so I’m thrilled to be here.”
The festival will run until 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Parts of Delaware, Franklin Allen and Virginia Place will be closed.
