Tree planted in memory of hit-and-run victim

ANGOLA, N.Y. – The family of Barry Moss planted a tree in his memory on Sunday.

June 14 marks a year and a half since Moss was struck and killed as he walked along Route 5 in the Town of Evans.

The tree marks the exact location of the incident.

Police say a Ford Explorer registered to Gabriele Ballowe hit and killed Moss. Whoever drove the vehicle left the scene without helping him and he later died, say Evans Police. Ballowe is the only suspect in the case but has not been charged in connection with his death. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
