Bank of America supports Father Baker’s legacy with $11k donation

LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A program which operates in honor of Father Baker’s legacy is receiving a boost from a prominent local business.

Bank of America representatives presented a check for $11,000 to “Father Baker’s” for the WAY Program. The program aims to teach skills to youth individuals and prepare them for the workforce and with basic life skills.

“By presenting this grant to Baker Victory Services Work Appreciation for Youth, we are giving western New York residents access to more job training options that could lead to a better financial life,” Kevin Murphy, Buffalo market president of Bank of America, said.

The WAY Program was founded in 2001, and operates LunchWAY Cafe, which is open to the public from 11:30 to 1 p.m. on Monday through Friday at 790 Ridge Road in Lackawanna. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
