Man with child in car accused of topping 100 MPH in chase with Troopers

ELBA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A high speed chase led to one man being hauled off in a police cruiser.

Police say Kyle J. Allport, 30, sped past them and as they began to pursue, he sped up — reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour on State Route 98 in Elba. When police finally caught up with him, they say they learned he had a child in the back seat and a suspended driver’s license.

New York State Troopers charged Allport with speeding, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to comply with a lawful order of a police officer and endangering the welfare of a child.

Following arraignment, Allport was remanded to the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. He’ll return to court on June 25. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
