Parking fee abolished at Erie Basin Marina

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A controversial parking fee is being done away with — and much earlier than expected.

Buffalo Common Council President Darius Pridgen says the Erie Basin Marina and its new operators will no longer be allowed to charge a $5 parking fee for days where there are events either at the marina or in the City of Buffalo.

The debate has been protracted, but officials said they didn’t expect an official decision for between one and two weeks. Lawyers were reportedly working on learning if it was even legal to charge for parking at a public park.
