ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision announced Tuesday that three members of the Clinton Correctional Facility’s Executive Team and nine security staff employees have been placed on administrative leave.

The moves stem from the ongoing review associated with the June 6 escape from Clinton Correctional Facility by Richard Matt and David Sweat.

CBS News has confirmed that the FBI has also launched an investigation into the prison.

In a statement, the department said that Assistant Commissioner for Correctional Facilities James O’Gorman will oversee the maximum security prison as the new leadership team transitions this week.

Staffing for the security positions will be handled through procedures outlined in the union contract.

Due to the ongoing review and investigations, additional information is not available at this time.
