“Double Up Food Bucks” is back

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market announced the return of their “Double Up Food Bucks” program on Saturday.

In cooperation with the Elmwood Village Association, the program provides low-income individuals who receive supplemental nutrition assistance, a dollar for dollar match.

The assistance affords the purchase of locally-grown fruits and vegetables to those who would otherwise not have the means.

The open-air market operates rain or shine, every Saturday through November. The “Double Up” assistance program runs through October.
