More alleged malfeasance leads to additional McDonald’s arrest in Evans

EVANS, N.Y. (WIVB) — After police investigation led to the arrest of a manager at the Angola Service Area McDonald’s restaurant, another employee is facing criminal charges.

New York State Police worked with McDonald’s to help investigate thousands of missing dollars after they say Valerie McKeever, 31, stole more than $6,000 over time. Now McKeever is facing additional charges with another local woman. Police arrested Thursday Luana J. Halftown, 37, and said she was stealing money by forging her payroll sheets.

Police say Halftown worked with McKeever, the manager, to forge paperwork which said she worked 40 hours each week, despite her status as a part-time employee who worked 17 hours each week.

Over 15 weeks, police say McKeever and Halftown forged payroll sheets to steal $4,412 in the form of time theft.

Police charged Halftown with third degree grand larceny and other charges. McKeever is facing additional charges from the investigation.
