NF Police say bones belong to animal not murder victims

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara Falls Police have confirmed that the bones found next to an abandoned home on Pierce Avenue and 13th Street are from an animal not murder victim, Terri Lynn Bills.

At first, some people questioned whether the bones were human remains because police are investigating the murders of two dismembered women.

In June, Niagara Falls Police found the head, arms, and feet of Bills at a vacant home on Willow Avenue.

Police told News 4 the crime against the 49-year-old is similar to the murder of Bills’ niece, Loretta Gates.

In 2012, her torso was found in the Niagara river.

Police are still investigating both cases. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
