Video shows woman refusing to get off of Albuquerque fire truck

A woman climbed onto an Albuquerque Fire Department HazMat truck at the city’s Fourth of July celebration. Getting her down wasn’t easy.

Officer: You can’t be up there.

Woman: Yeah I can. I’m up here.

Officer: Well, you shouldn’t be up there.

Woman: Who says?

A crowd gathered at Balloon Fiesta Park on Independence Day for Freedom Fourth fireworks.

That is where one woman decided the best seat in the house would be on top of an AFD truck.

“All of this s*** belongs to God. All of it,” she said as she refused to climb down.

Lapel video from Albuquerque Police shows the Crisis Intervention Unit was on scene as officers worked for nearly two hours to try to get the woman down.

“Firefighters have a job to do and they’re going to need to drive off in their truck, and they can’t do that if you’re up there,” an officer told the woman.

She would not climb down so officers went up, restrained her and prepared to carry her off the truck as she fired off threats.

“Do you hear me, little girl? I’m going to hurt you,” she said.

The woman did try to kick and bite police as they took her to the car.

Police said they don’t believe she was drunk or on drugs, but they did take her to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Police said the woman is not facing any charges. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
