WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Summit Fitness Center of Wheatfield closed its doors suddenly on June 30, leaving dozens of its members holding the bag. They received little advance warning, other than a form letter, and no one has been available to answer their questions.
Some felt as if they had been left in the dark, so they contacted Call 4 Action, and now they are starting to see the light, after another local gym stepped up to help those consumers sort things out.
Best Fitness is offering Summit Fitness members a 30-day free pass while they search for a new health club. Regional Manager Tom Bramwell made that offer Wednesday, after he saw the Call 4 Action story.
“We just wanted to open our doors to create an avenue so that they don’t have to put a halt to their working out. They are able to come in, still get a great workout and in a great facility. So we want to open our doors to all the Summit Fitness Center members, and let them use our gym for a free 30 days.”
Bramwell says Summit Fitness members have plenty of options if you want to take him up on the offer. However, Best Fitness only has two locations, but they are conveniently located: one on Elmwood Avenue, in the Regal Cinema Plaza; the other is on Eggert Road in the Town of Tonawanda.
Bramwell added, in a phone conversation from Best Fitness headquarters in Nashua, N.H., “whatever we can do to help, that is what we are here for.”
