Amherst woman charged with driving intoxicated with a child in the car

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local woman is facing charges of placing a child in harm’s way under Leandra’s Law.

Police stopped Christina M. Mack, a 38-year-old Amherst native, after they say they observed her swerving between lanes on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Police say they suspected her of being intoxicated, potentially on pain medication.

A drug recognition expert evaluated her, and then transported her to receive blood work. Police arrested her and charged her with criminal possession of a controlled substance, DWI under Leandra’s Law and failure to keep right.

Mack will return to court on Aug. 3. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
