Truck sinks into water at Erie Basin Marina

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Early Sunday evening, a man lost control of his truck near the Erie Basin Marina and it was dragged underwater.

Buffalo Police were first on the the scene to find a slowly sinking truck — positioned just ahead of a boat in the public marina. Witnesses on the scene say the pickup truck driver was lowering his truck into the water to tow a boat but lost control.

As the truck sank just outside Templeton Landing, the driver was forced to climb out of the vehicle and swim to safety. Buffalo Police eventually helped to tow the truck out of the water.

Officials from the Buffalo Police Department have yet to comment on the event, but no injuries have been reported.
