SILVER CREEK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Unbeknownst to motorists on the Thruway, New York State Troopers set up a DWI checkpoint off certain exits on Sunday night.
Two men who drove through a checkpoint off of Exit 58 at Silver Creek now face charges of driving while intoxicated. Police say they arrested the two men and processed them in Dunkirk.
Police arrested Donald G. Newman, a 57-year-old Buffalo man, after learning he had a .10 percent blood alcohol content. They arrested David T. Orsi, a 67-year-old Lewiston Man, after learning he had a .13 percent blood alcohol content.
Each person faces misdemeanor charges and will return to court in August.
