Man accused of stealing nearly $4,000 in unemployment

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Investigation into fraud led to the arrest of a Niagara Falls man on felony charges.

Police say they investigated Ziad S. Zabaneh, 22, while working with the New York Sate Department of Labor. Investigation reportedly turned up paperwork showing he fraudulently received $3,900 in unemployment while employed by a local company.

Following his arrest over the weekend, Zabaneh stands charged with third degree grand larceny, falsifying business records and offering to file a false instrument — each a felony charge.

Zabaneh will return to court on Aug. 3. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
