Single car crash sends car airborne, driver hospitalized

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — A crash in Orchard Park sent one car sailing through the air when the driver suffered a medical emergency.

Police responding to the 6 a.m. crash at North Buffalo Road say 52-year-old Orchard Park native Samuel Cino was rushed to the Erie County Medical Center following the crash. Investigation led police to suggest the driver had a medical emergency, sending the car off the road near the Greater Erie Federal Credit Union.

Once off the road, the vehicle traveled through several yards, snapping signs and finally hitting a tree before launching into the air. The car came to rest in the parking lot of the Orchard Park Veterinarian Center.

An investigation is continuing with the aid of West Seneca Police’s Accident Investigation Unit.
