PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) – Bills running back Boobie Dixon will miss at least a couple weeks with what Rex Ryan is calling a “substantial” calf injury.

Dixon, who is battling for a roster spot in a deep group of running backs, got hurt during Monday night’s practice.

“It could be a severe thing. Sometimes a guy can be out three, four weeks at least even. It seems like it was pretty substantial, so I am not sure we are going to get Boobie for the next couple of weeks,” said Ryan.

The Bills also had two players go down with minor knee injuries Wednesday, with both right tackle Cyrus Kouandjio and defensive end Jarius Wynn leaving practice early.

LeSean McCoy is nursing a minor toe injury, although Ryan emphasized the injury is not turf toe.

Former Canisius basketball star Chris Manhertz made his first appearance in full pads today, with the Bills activating him off the Physically Unable to Perform list.
