Dump truck knocks down power lines in Williamsville

\WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Crews closed down an intersection temporarily in Williamsville Wednesday when a dump truck snapped power lines, forcing them into the street.

Calls rang out to Amherst Police when power lines crashed to the ground following an impact with a dump truck. Power temporarily went out and one of the lines caused a fire in a nearby bush.

First responders still on the scene of the call couldn’t comment, but said North Forest and Maple Roads were reopened just before 2:45 for at least one lane of traffic to flow through.

The dump truck reportedly was part of a paving project in a nearby parking lot.
