BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – The new organic sunscreen product from the brand from “Honest” has been receiving a lot of bad feedback on social media. Customers say the product has given them severe burns while in the sun. So what is the best brand of sunscreen to use? Or does the brand not matter? News 4’s Brittni Smallwood checked in with Dr. Steven Lana from Delaware Pediatrics to talk about sunscreen safety.
Dr. Lana discussed the importance of reapplying sunscreen. He said that the brand of sunscreen does not matter. He said, “They all should have the main simple ingredients.” You should reapply sunscreen every two hours and immediately after swimming or excessive sweating.
As summer is winding down, Dr. Lana also warned about wearing sunscreen even when it’s cloudy. He explained that the safest times to be out of the sun is before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m.
