YORKSHIRE, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police say they responded to an incident on Sunday in the Town of Yorkshire and subsequently determined that a child had been abused.
State Police’s investigation found at the 6 year-old girl was grabbed by her neck and thrown to the ground, causing bruising and abrasions. Police allege that Roberto Alejandro, 36, from Gowanda was responsible for the assault on the young girl.
Alejandro was found on Tuesday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and assault in the third degree.
He was arraigned in the Town of Machias court and remanded to Cattaraugus County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
