WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two drivers have pleaded guilty to charges after an accident earlier this year left one of the driver’s passengers dead.
Daniel Demont, 27, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in the first degree and Ashley Alexander, 26, also of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Last May, Demont’s car crossed into oncoming traffic on Clinton St. and struck the pickup that Alexander was driving. David Roller, who was a passenger in Alexander’s truck, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Police determined Demont’s blood alcohol level to be of .21% and that he was the cause of the collision which killed Roller. Alexander was found to also be driving under the influence with a BAC of .23%.
Demont faces up to 15 years in state prison and Alexander faces up to 1 year in jail when they are both sentenced on October 27.
