High tech investigation leads police to arrest alleged Walmart thieves

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) — While working to help Walmart solve a case of theft, a manufacturer used their technology to help bring a swift resolution.

Police investigating the theft of four Xbox wireless controllers say they contacted the manufacturer, which pinpointed the address of where the controllers were in use.

New York State Troopers who responded to the address say they found the controllers at the home and arrested both Justin E. Domescek, 22, and Lindsay T. Shaffer, 26, in the home.

Domescek and Shaffer will return to court at a later date to answer charges related to the theft.
