Motorcycle crash seriously injures local man

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — A serious crash in Amherst is the subject of a police investigation on Thursday.

Police say they responded to an accident around 3 p.m. on Maple Road. While a pickup truck driver pulled out of his driveway, police say a motorcyclist collided with the truck.

While investigating the accident, Amherst police say they learned the motorcycle traveled at a high rate of speed before the collision. The driver of the bike, a 24-year-old North Tonawanda male, was rushed to a local hospital for serious back injuries. The pickup truck driver did not report any injuries.
