Village of Silver Creek residents ordered to boil water

SILVER CREEK, N.Y. (WIVB) — After a water main break in the Village of Silver Creek, officials are asking residents to boil water.

Village crews worked the scene of a water main break on Monday afternoon, announcing the break just after 1:50. An order from the Chautauqua County Department of Health asked all residents to both conserve water and boil water.

In order to fully boil water to the point of safe consumption, officials recommend bringing a pot of water to a rolling boil for a full minute at the point of boiling, then letting it cool for use.
