Home caregiver charged with grand larceny

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) — Those in need of help entrusted a Buffalo woman with taking care of their loved ones, but she’s now facing charges of stealing from those same clients.

Police are reaching out to the public after arresting Buffalo native Leona C. McCoullum, 52. One of McCoullum’s clients say they caught her on camera stealing from their home. They called police and sparked an investigation that led to the arrest.

Anybody who may has employed her in the past and has had property disappear is encouraged to call police at (716) 689-1342.

McCoullum stands charged with felony fourth degree grand larceny. She’ll face arraignment on Wednesday.
