3-year-old dies after near drowning

BOSTON, N.Y. (WIVB) — A child who nearly drowned in a pond in the Town of Boston has died in a hospital following the event.

First responders rushed to the scene of a 3-year-old under water in the Abbott Hill Road pond early on Saturday, Aug. 22. Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies worked with a resident on scene to pull the child out of the water and performed CPR on him soon after.

Identified as Charles Blaser, police say Mercy Flight rushed the child to Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo where he died from injuries related to the event nearly a week later.
