BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- For the third time in approximately two months, a car has crashed at Gates Circle in Buffalo.
Buffalo Police are investigating the crash, which occurred at 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The driver and passenger were not seriously hurt, but police had to shut down the circle for a short time to clean up the wreckage. News 4 is working to find out what, if any, charges the driver will face.
This is the third crash at this roundabout this summer.
On July 13, 2015, a woman was critically injured when she crashed into the median, and her car flipped over.
Two weeks earlier, on June 29, a man lost control in the curve and also crashed.
News 4 also reported on a crash involving a 42 year-old woman from Tonawanda, who was hurt when she hit the curb and her car flipped over in October, 2014.
People who live near the circle, where Lafayette Avenue, Chapin Parkway, and Delaware Avenue meet, have told News 4 they would like the city to do something to make the roundabout safer.
Most of the crashes involved drivers who were going faster than the posted speed limit of 30 mph.
