BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo Police had a busy morning Friday executing search warrants at a number of houses on the city’s West Side.
Our News 4 crew saw the police right after one raid wrapped up at a house on Trenton Avenue. Police were also at work at a home on Efner one street away.
Buffalo Police have confirmed that they executed search warrants in that area “in connection with recent incidents”. We are still waiting for official word about the specifics. We are also waiting for word about whether any arrests were made Friday morning, and what, if anything, was found inside the homes that were searched.
While police were executing those search warrants, we know they were also busy one street over the other way, on Busti. An officer on scene there told our News 4 crew they were responding to an assault. At least seven police vehicles were at that scene.
At the same time, Buffalo Police were also helping Town of Tonawanda Police execute a search warrant at a home on Blackmore Street. That drug raid resulted in one arrest and crack cocaine was seized from the home, according to Town of Tonawanda Police. Our News 4 team saw at least a dozen officers in full tactical gear outside the home, as well as a police K-9 unit in the area, before police left the area.
Town of Tonawanda Police tell News 4 it was simply a coincidence that the house that was searched on Blackmore Street Friday morning is only a hundred yards or so up the street from the scene of a fatal shooting Sunday.
