Ride for Roswell makes strides as Tops Friendly Markets presents check

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — In the nearly two decades bikers have taken part in the Ride for Roswell event, it has grown from a $100,000 a year charity, to a $4.6 million a year charity, and the number continues to grow.

On Friday, Tops Friendly Markets presented a $13,000 check to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, representing a dollar donation per purchased case of Labatt Blue beer from their stores. Tops held the charitable event from June on at their area stores.

Both Tops and Labatt Blue sponsor the ride. The President and CEO of Tops said he and his company support the Ride for Roswell event and will do what they can to support it.

Over its entire existence, the Ride for Roswell event has raised more than $34 million.
