Zoo to debut polar bear Luna’s new home

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — In just one week, the public will be able to see Luna the polar bear as she explores her new home.

Her pricey new mansion — the polar bear “Arctic Edge” exhibit — commands a price tag of about $14 million, Construction has continued for months, but officials will soon hold a private viewing of the finished product, and the public will be able to view the habitat on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Buffalo Zoo is set to hold several events ahead of the release, including “Zooper Saturday” for Labor Day weekend. Zoo keepers will hold talks and other activities between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

On Labor Day, admission to the zoo will be just $1 and will remain open from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m.
