Man arrested for armed robbery

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara County Sheriffs made an arrest after a man was robbed at gunpoint late Monday afternoon.

Investigators say while garnishing a handgun Thomas Byrne of Lockport, approached a man in a parking lot on South Transit Road and demanded money.

The male victim called police after the 35-year-old Byrne left the scene.

State Police were able to locate Bryne’s vehicle in the city of Lockport and a short time later found him.

Bryne was charged with robbery in the first-degree, petit larceny and remanded to the Niagara County jail on $10,000 bail.

Bryne is due back in court later this week.
