Tampa police rescue kitten from manhole

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Tampa police officers rescued a kitten who found itself in a dangerous situation over the weekend.

A concerned citizen called 911 after hearing a kitten’s repeated cries for help. The striped kitten had somehow wound up in a manhole.

Tampa Police Officer’s Dwight Vinkemulder and Matthew Drumsta rescued the kitten from the a manhole and took a few photos of the unusual 911 call.

Tampa Police Department posted the photos on its Facebook page with the following message:

“Thank you Officers for you extending your compassion to our furry residents as well. Great job!”
