CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — Three local teens face felony robbery and assault charges after police in the City of Tonawanda arrested them overnight on Monday.
Police say they responded to an overnight robbery that left a 15-year-old with potentially lasting injuries. Officers say the group, a 16-year-old and two 17-year-old teens, beat the 15-year-old just after midnight by punching and kicking him.
The group allegedly left with his cell phone and sneakers before officers and first responders rushed the victim to seek medical attention with neck and head injuries.
Police say they caught up with the group at a local convenience store in North Tonawanda. Each teen faces second degree robbery, fourth degree conspiracy, third degree assault, larceny and fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property.
