Companies prepare to hire more locals

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Two companies are preparing to hire more western New Yorkers to fill a growing need for laborers.

The grocery store chain Aldi is holding another job fair on Friday at the Aldi location on Harlem Road in West Seneca. Applicants can come prepared for an interview setting from 7 a.m. through 11 a.m., or from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The company says it will hire store associates and manager trainees. Those applying must be 18-years-old or older to apply with a high school diploma or GED.

Chipotle also announced it would go on a hiring spree, encouraging people to apply. They said on Wednesday alone they would hire up to 4,000 new staffers. The company says it is opening more restaurants but overall applications are down. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
