Town Hall meeting called to address recent violence

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Community leaders called for an emergency Town Hall meeting Saturday.

With growing concerns over the number of violent gun crimes and murders the group aims at protecting and meeting the needs of area children.

One SNUG Outreach member said, “For all the people that say that nobody is doing anything, stop putting that message in their ear. Because as you see, there are a lot of people that are doing things. Not just talking about it… they are taking action. And I implore everyone to take action today. Start with your home. Start with your neighborhoods… join this movement to make change in our community.”

The group says, with the economic growth rapidly changing landscape of Buffalo, a strategy is needed to ensure the city’s youth can survive. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
