ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – Over 70,300 fans packed Ralph Wilson Stadium Sunday for the first game of the regular season.
News 4 spoke to fans leaving the stadium about their experience at Sunday’s home opener and their expectations for the rest of the season.
“It was crazy, it was amazing. The crowd was nuts. It was a great game,” said Jonahtan Thuney who was at the game with his friend AJ Langendoen who said the rain didn’t put a damper on the fans’ enthusiasm. Langendoen called the fans “bonkers” on Sunday.
“This season is a season of hope,” Jerry Bailey said who drove 17 hours from Kansas to attend Sunday’s game. “Everything we’re seeing now is completely new. I love it; it’s no more conservative playing on the field. We’re excited.”
Fans were thrilled with the team’s performances and excited to see the first win under leadership by new head coach Rex Ryan.
“Rex Ryan is the man,” said Matthew Haux. “Tyrod Taylor did what he had to do today.”
