Making ‘Headway’ in WNY

BUFFALO, N.Y (WIVB) – Nearly 140 runners and volunteers turned out for Headway of Western New York’s 6th Annual Walk, Run & Wheel 5K Sunday.

The event raises funds and awareness for individuals living with traumatic brain injuries and other disabilities.

Christine Melchiorre, Funding Resource and Outreach Specialist says, “A lot of people with traumatic brain injuries don’t know where to go… Headway is a source of support and advocacy. Headway is the focal point, the starting point for survivors of brain injuries and their families.”

The race allowed participants to walk, run and wheel, along Buffalo’s waterfront.
