Jack Eichel sinks game winning goal in preseason debut

Eichel takes the ice at the Sabres development camp.

MINNESOTA (WIVB) — With just minutes left in the third period, Jack Eichel proved he’s ready to be a team leader on the ice for the Buffalo Sabres.

Eichel, the Buffalo Sabres’ first round draft pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, netted the puck to secure the win with just under six minutes left on the clock.

But the victorious points on the board weren’t the only contribution he made that game. Eichel lined up a goal for Matt Moulson, earning himself an assist on the game-tying goal.

The Sabres prevailed over the Minnesota Wild at their home court, the Xcel Energy Center, lofting the Sabres to 1-0 in preseason play.
