Teen hit by gunfire in early morning on Buffalo’s east side

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo teen is being attended to by doctors at the Erie County Medical Center as he attempts to recover from a serious shooting on the city’s east side.

Police say they rushed to the scene of the shooting on Fillmore Avenue and East Utica Street just after midnight. A 17-year-old suffered gunshot wounds and needed emergency medical attention.

First responders rushed him to receive medical attention, and doctors listed him in serious condition at ECMC soon after.

The shooting followed another evening shooting on Genesee and Crossman where a victim sustained a bullet wound in the wrist.

Police are investigating both shootings and are asking for help from the public in solving the crimes. Anybody with information is asked to call (716) 847-2255.
