BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Patrick Kane’s defense is disputing claims that evidence was tampered with in the rape case against his client.
Attorney Paul Cambria says it would be Kane who would suffer if there had been tampering because his DNA did not show up on any tests conducted from the victim. Instead, he claims that DNA taken from the victim returned a mixture of multiple males, none of which were Kane.
Attorney Tom Eoannou, who represents the accuser, announced during a press conference Wednesday that evidence had been tampered with, potentially jeopardizing the case.
Cambria called into question Eoannou’s motives, saying that he provided no facts that an alleged tampered with bag actually contained evidence related to the case.
“To me, it appeared as if someone was trying to cloud the results that they weren’t pleased with,” Cambria said.
Cambria also warned that charges could be filed if the claims made by Eoannou turn out to be false.
He is welcoming any investigation to straighten out the matter.
