Police seize heroin, marijuana from Gowanda home

GOWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Multiple law enforcement agencies reported Friday that a search warrant was executed at a home on West Main Street in the Village of Gowanda as part of an ongoing investigation in heroin and crack cocaine sales in and around the village.

In the course of the search a large quantity of packages heroin and marijuana was seized, authorities say, that was ready to be distributed to sell.

Six people were arrested as a part of the investigation and a seventh was arrested on an unrelated charge. That seventh person was released on an appearance ticket for Town of Collins court.

The others were arraigned in the Town of Persia court and taken to the Cattaraugus County jail.

Officers from the Gowanda Police Department, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and Salamanca Police Department were involved in the investigation.
