Charity chocolate factory tour to be open to public

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — One of western New York’s favorite chocolate producers is inviting the public to take a tour of its headquarters and factory for a good cause.

Straight out of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, Fowler’s Chocolates is inviting candy lovers to come take a tour and snag a few free tastes for a good cause. Tours will cost $3 if purchased beforehand, and $4 if purchased at the door.

The tours will benefit Kaley’s Kindness Foundation, a nonprofit that provides support for teens who live with cancer. The cause is different each year, and the tours — now in their 13th iteration — have helped to raise about $25,000 for local charities.

Although tourists won’t be guided along by orange Oompa-Loompas, they’ll get free candy and new knowledge of the chocolate productions at one of the area’s oldest chocolate manufacturers. They’ll also have the knowledge they’re helping out a good cause.
