Police in Canada attempt to capture escaped bison, clash with onlookers

CANADA (WIVB) — Wranglers in Canada worked into Wednesday to corral a group of bison that escaped from a farm in Canada earlier in the week.

The bison escaped on Sunday and have been roaming the Canadian countryside in the Niagara region, eventually wandering onto the QEW where one died when struck by a car.

Police in Canada say they’ve been working with the farm owner to get the remaining two bison back to safety. However on Wednesday, police say onlookers who gathered to watch the bison and police efforts were getting in the way.

Officers say they were attempting to keep people off of the QEW as corralling attempts are still underway. News 4 will update this story when more details become available.
