Wyoming state man killed in Southern Tier Expressway crash Saturday

Friendship, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from the state of Wyoming died after his SUV crashed Saturday afternoon on the Southern Tier Expressway in Allegany County.

State Police were called to Interstate 86 in Friendship around 2:45 p.m.

Troopers found the vehicle on its side; they determined that Larry W. Bush, 66, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was driving the SUV when it went across both eastbound lanes and onto the center median. Investigators say the vehicle returned to the travel lanes, then overturned.

Mercy Flight took Bush to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo where he died later.

A portion of the interstate that was closed due to the accident is reopened. The investigation is still ongoing.
