Home burns in morning fire on Altruria Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Firefighters rushed to the scene of a morning fire just after 9 a.m. in south Buffalo.

First responders arrived to a two and a half story home on Altruria Street where they learned everybody inside escaped safely, allowing them to pursue an aggressive firefight.

After battling the blaze, investigation revealed the fire started on the first floor but extended to the second floor and shot through the attic.

The flames caused about $75,000 in damage to the home, which is divided into two apartments.

Fire investigators say their investigation is continuing.
