Bookkeeper admits to stealing $200k from local business

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An employee at PCI International Inc. pleaded guilty in court Friday to stealing a huge sum of money from his employer.

Officials say Robert Coppola, a Buffalo native, admitted he stole more than $200,000 from his employer while working as a bookkeeper by forging checks and transferring bank transfers to his own accounts.

Coppola’s guilty plea to grand larceny in New York State Supreme Court will find him in prison for up to 15 years when he’s sentenced on Jan. 15, 2016. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
