Jamestown man charged in early morning stabbing

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man is charged with 2nd degree assault after an early morning stabbing incident.

Police say a 23-year-old man was stabbed in the chest shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday near Fairmount Ave. in Jamestown.

The victim was taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown and subsequently transferred to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

Following the incident, Police arrested Eric Barbee, 33, of Jamestown.

Barbee was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
