Buffalo man pleads guilty to hit-and-run-related charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An Austin Street resident admitted in court Thursday to hitting a Louisiana man with a car and speeding off back in May.

30-year-old Carl Nye, III, was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and faced with a hit-and-run-related charge.

Nye admitted to striking Adam Brown, 51, as the man was crossing Elmwood Ave. on Buffalo’s north side.

Nye proceeded to drive off and attempt to hide his damaged vehicle. It was found an hour later on Buffalo’s south side.

Brown was taken to ECMC, and now remains at a rehabilitation facility after suffering head trauma and a severe leg injury.

Nye could spend up to four years in jail following sentencing in February.
