McCartney Mania hits WNY

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – It’s a day that Beatles fans in Western New York have been dreaming of, for decades. Sir Paul McCartney will play his first ever show in Buffalo Thursday night, when his “Out There” tour visits First Niagara Center.

The morning team at 97 Rock hyped up the excitement this morning, when they sent fans on a scavenger hunt looking for a pair of hidden tickets. They read clues on the air to point them in the right direction.

“The most recent clue is they are hidden on a street maybe think Southtowns, in the long and winding road,” Host JP explained.

The lucky winner found the tickets at Jojo’s Pizzeria on Abbott Road. The station chose that location since Abbott Road is close to “Abbey Road,”
and “Jojo” is a lyric from the song “Get Back.”

The show begins at 8pm at First Niagara Center. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
