Rollover crash sends woman, baby to hospital

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman and her baby had to be taken by ambulance to ECMC after a rollover crash on Eggert Road overnight.

The crash happened just after midnight on Eggert between LaSalle and Minnesota.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it appears the woman and her baby were heading north on Eggert in a red Kia when the woman hit a parked car, and her vehicle rolled.

Our News 4 photographer at the scene says the baby did not appear to be badly hurt, and the woman was in a neck brace when they were both taken away by ambulance. Police tell us neither has life threatening injuries.

Now, officials are working to piece together exactly how this all happened.

The owner of the car that was hit, Amber Newton, is also looking for answers. She says she was upstairs in her Eggert Road home when it happened. “I heard a crash and then I come outside, well actually I looked out the window and I saw that my car was pushed and squished so I came outside, and then I saw that someone’s car was completely flipped over,” she said. “I didn’t see what happened. I just saw the aftermath.”

There is no word at this point about whether the woman who was driving the car that rolled will be ticketed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
